OUR AIMS
The Red Thread of Fate is a belief originating in Chinese Mythology that suggests that each of us are connected to our soulmate, or 'true love' by a red string. The concept of this inevitable and unbreakable connection - potentially spanning thousands of miles and tens of decades - sparked the idea for Tying Strings, a collaborative literary journal available to writers and audiences globally.
With the creation of 'Tying Strings' we set out to build a literary experience that would allow ourselves - and our readers - to find connection and meaning within places, experiences, and anything else that might ever feel hopeless or overwhelming. We wanted to develop a collaborative work, allowing readers to connect with stories and ideas from around the world.
Within each publication, Tying Strings strives to amplify the voices that need to be heard, including but not limited to LGBTQ creatives, creatives of colour, disabled creatives, creatives of marginalised genders and of religious diversity. All submissions are welcome to be shared regardless of experience, theme or form.
